How long does a divorce take?

Assuming there are no obstacles and you have been separated for more than one year, a divorce can usually be completed within three months.

Is my case suitable for an uncontested divorce?

Uncontested divorces are appropriate where parties have settled all of their affairs by separation agreement or through an earlier court process. An uncontested divorce is not appropriate where there are outstanding unresolved issues such as child support, spousal support, child support or division of property.

How much does an uncontested divorce cost?

Total charges are usually in the range of $1,100.00 to $1,200.00. Our charges are made up of fees and disbursements. Fees represent monies paid for professional services. Disbursements are monies paid to others - the court, process servers and the Law Society for a litigation levy.

Our fee is $600.00 plus g.s.t. of $30.00. Disbursements include government filing fees and monies paid to process servers to file and serve court documents. These charges vary but are usually in the range of $500, inclusive of tax.
